Teenage depression is a very real and alarming problem in our society today.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers and untreated depression can lead to a myriad of social and mental disorders.
Teenagers are notoriously difficult, already dealing with massive body and brain chemistry changes. Puberty and the immense stress of teenage life today can be a daunting task for anyone.
The stresses placed on teenagers today are becoming ever more difficult to manage. Peer pressure isn’t just confined to schools and small neighbourhoods anymore – personal cell phones and social media platforms are a whole new playing field and teenagers are increasingly susceptible to damaging and negative influences.
At the same time, however, there is thankfully are ever growing resources to help manage our chaotic lifestyles. There is an immense amount of uplifting content on the internet today – much of which is freely available.
